Suspensions and withdrawals
It is possible for bodies to have their accreditation withdrawn temporarily if it appears they no longer meet the specified standards. We refer to this as a suspension. In that case they are given six months to implement the required improvements and to have those improvements assessed.
It is also possible that bodies lose their accreditation permanently, in which case we talk of a withdrawal: the accreditation agreement is then terminated. Suspensions and withdrawals can be voluntary or imposed. In both cases a body is not permitted to use the accreditation mark for the relevant activities anymore.
